I just can't figure out why the 107 are FLHC and the 114 are FLHCS .. Same with the Fatboy. FLFB in 107 vs FLFBS in 114 .... anybody know ? ; )

Because they "are" special, just like mine. The 114 make the s in FLHCS.

As has been said before -- the 114 versions are denoted as "S"; the 107 Fat Bob is the FXFB, the 114 is the FXFBS. And, the FXFBS is blacked out with security, ABS, high-flow air intake and the biggest motor. Not seeing why it wouldn't qualify? Is it just because the base model is also blacked out?

The Fatboy Model S was never about getting the "larger" of two standard engine options or searching for the letter S in the model designation. The Model S was outfitted with an impractically large (and hot) air-cooled engine, lowered suspension, and blacked out with a select set of features. It was a chance to own the ultimate enthusiast-oriented Twin-Cam Fatboy before the product line became something else entirely for 2018.

And I love my " impractically large air-cooled engine, lowered suspension, and blacked out with a select set of features" but that's just me...LOL

We get it Jag...you love your pea soup green and black Heritage with your 114 M8. By the way, you calling it Olive is getting old. Do you want to be "special"...you are already there.

"Impractically large.." now that is funny. Kind of like having a d*^& that's TOO big to be practical...funny!

Roger. Still not entirely sussed though. My '18 FXFBS has an even impractically larger and hot air-cooled engine (well, air/oil cooled). Suspension isn't lowered, but it is blacked out and has a select set of features (mainly in ABS and the Ventilator air cleaner). Seems comparable, and is called the "Fat Bob Special" on Harley's site.

Is the differentiating factor that Harley introduced a complete separate "S" line for 2016, but doesn't specifically spell out the five new "S" models as being something different? Because I could see that; the Softail Slim S had unique paint, and the Fatboy S was blacked out when the regular Fatboy wasn't, right? So in a way the older "S" line was sort of like "CVO", a distinct lineup, whereas the current line of "S" models is basically the same bike but with a bigger engine, high-flow intake, and ABS. I will agree that Harley doesn't seem to be doing anything to set the "S" models apart this year, whereas they did specifically make the "S" line special for '16 and '17.
