@ Joe...very informative input you posted. Reminds me of those who pull their baffles and lost that midrange and have no idea why. Proper pipe choice is everything.
For what it's worth, the sound one chooses for their scoot needs to be respected. I'd hate to think we were all alike or the government regulated that too, that would be messed up.

Yes I was flat amazed how the open pipes killed my midrange. 20 hp/tq right at highway range. That video really explains it well with the slinky demonstration. S&S did a good job with that and the comparative dyno sheets showing how killing the reversion gives back the power.
A well designed set of long tube headers is the best mod for N/A performance, the cylinder scavenging effect really works and there is real science on where to put the collector. A 2 into 1 pipe on our bikes works the same which is why I suggested it for the OP.
However, I still say if he wants a power increase he can really feel, it's going to require a cam swap, but to the proper cam designed for his riding style.
