Default Deluxe rear fender stretch

This is a mod I've been wanting to do for a long time.
After reading and searching all the threads, on here, and anywhere else I could find info..... it has finally begun.

I will be keeping the original fender, so first job was to source another one to cut n' stretch.
That was found locally and was delivered to me within a couple of days.
Next I had to source yet another fender for the donor section. I found one cheap on ebay in the US, had it sent to a friend in FL who cut the section I needed and shipped it to me in OZ.

Next it was off to AACustoms in Victoria, OZ to see the owner Andrew and let him work his magic.

Then is was time to take lots of measurements, think, re-think how it would be best to be cut and sectioned together. All unused holes will be filled, (the rear seat and luggage rack holes.)

This is where it's at so far:

This is the replacement fender and the section that will be used.

The fender was measured and triple checked and finally cut.

The donor section in place, mocked up before being tack welded.

Test fitting again to see roughly how it should look. The stretched section will be approximately 130mm (5.5 - 6")

This is as far as its gone so far.

I will update as things progress.

I have seen some other fender stretch pics before. I didn't however notice that they had such a large difference in the lower section. Interested to see how this turns out.

Thumbs up

Now it is taking shape.
I wondered what you were going to do with the side skirts, now you have them done, I must say its looking good! Your almost there now. A little bit of bodywork & prep, and your ready for paint.

Look forward to seeing the pics after you have it in primer, then paint.

This project was on the back-burner for awhile, but is back in action again.

It has now been high-filled, sanded, wet sanded and now primed ready for paint.

The painting should be finished in the next few days.

This is where its up to at the moment:
