Default re-build stock seat or Airhawk?

Just got my bike a week ago and to no surprise the stock seat makes me 'numb' within a half hour. There's a place I've seen that re-foams seats with better foam for a reasonable price (~$120) but I'm thinking I may try Airhawk first since they have a 2 month moneyback guarantee.

Is anyone using the AH on a Heritage Classic seat and if so what are your thoughts? It looks like the 'large cruiser' would be the size I'd get. As a reference, I tried a Softail Slim before I bought my bike that had a Mustang seat and it had just the right firmness.

Thanks

The Heritage seat makes you numb?
I've heard the Heritage seat is the best stock seat out there.

I can ride for hours on that seat.
I put a Circulator pad on just for air circulation.

Perhaps the issue isn't the seat?

I'd spend more time in the saddle before I'd spend more money on the saddle.

I would give the seat a little more time to break in. With that said I run a mustang wide vintage and switch on and off the airhawk when I am on a long ride (10 days plus).

Should have mentioned the bike has 2000 miles on it so I'm hoping it's broken in by now.

How do you like the airhawk? I had a Mustang seat on an earlier bike and loved it. Just trying to hold off spending $500 if I don'thave to.

Start looking on eBay or search nationally on Craigslist.
People are always trading bikes and selling their after market seats.

I got my Signature Series Seat for $225 on Craigslist 1500 miles from me.

Just do like I did:

Get drunk, find memory foam in a closet, rip the leather off and go to town.

Like a brand new seat, and free!

I only run the mustang when on a trip. Love it for long distance. Air hawk is nice as well. Went from Milwaukee to San Diego last summer and was glad I had it when we went through the desert. Have also done iron butts and pretty confident without those two it wouldn't have been miserable. My only complaint is that they both sit me higher. I got air hawk used from this forum and the seat used off eBay. I would also still give the seat time to break in to you.

I have used Mustang seats on the most of my Harley's and have found them to be comfortable after the break-in period. I like the backrest, keeps me from slouching. I am looking to purchase an air hawk pad for a trip from PA to Fla this fall. Interested in others take on the pad.

Mean City Cycles. Best in the biz. Half the price. Give 'em a call and see what they say, they'll tell ya the truth if they can help or not.
