Thanks guys
My paint is a mess, but here you go.

You can see from the under shot that is just flat bar stock.
It is bolted to the bag with 1/4 20 bolt with a fender washer inside the bag.
On the right you can see a brace that runs up under my fender to a fender brace, all just bolted together.
Very solid, does not move.

Thanks, the bags are clearanced on the inside to clear the suspension parts. To get them this close you loose about half the size, but to me it is worth it.

I used a piece of 3/4 inch flat stock and heated and bent it to match the look of the cyclevisions brace. I have the klockwerks 4" stretched fender on mine so the cyclevisions cross brace didn't fit. But the bags are very rigid now. They flapped around alot without it.

I want a brace that will attach to the tubular mounts to stop any movement. I think I might just make my own brace (cant be that hard) and come up with a system where it will bolt around the tubes and somehow bolt to the fender.

Anyone have any good ideas to make something simple like described above?

Well I spoke with my neighbor which is a do it all kind of guy and he is going to weld me up a brace. We brainstormed for about an hour and came up with a way to do it that will still look clean. Ill post pics when its done

I mounted hard bags on my Fatboy and used the eBay mounts... DON'T DO IT. After 2 trips, the bracket has cracked open and busted off where they bolt to the passenger peg mount. $150 lesson learned. I'm getting the Cycle Visions brackets now; time and time again I tell myself but never listen. You get what you pay for.

Going with cycle visions really isnt the answer either, They also crack. My buddy has some and they break where they bolt together in the rear of the bike. He has had to weld them up again 3 times!

I wish someone would make a legit bracket for the softail.

I havent heard of any of the baggertail brackets cracking or breaking. Maybe thats an isolated issue?

I dont know but he has had them for quite a long time and has had to re-weld them 3 times so far where the rear of the bracket bolts together
