Experience with Shade Tree Fab exhaust?

I would also bet that shade tree is using the same muffler. Putting together a system like that is pretty easy. There are so many clamps and brackets available that its not that big of a deal. Performance will be as good or better than stock. If you are not handy with a set of wrenches you should probably order a premade set up. I would be surprised if any of shade trees system is made in house.

The muffler shown in the first pic of the Shade Tree Cycles bike is not one suggested by other posters. It has a different construction at the header pipe.
The type suggested by other posters is prone to breaking at the circumference bands, they split.
Getting a header pipe to suit the Twin Cam Softail with footboards isn't quite so easy.
Maybe there is someone out there who has done the job.
I'd sure like something to fit my Slim too.

Vintage stuff
Im saying Shade Tree aside, if i was to purchase one of these exhausts mufflers… http://www.jpcycles.com/product/450-182?source=iPaper
Would i be too hopeful to wish that it would be an improvement over the stock exhaust in either sound or performance?

I'm digging deep, because I'm going vintage on my springer. I'll keep you updated on what I find through this thread if that's OK w/y'all.

Hey Tadpole. It looks like DENNIS Corso is strictly vintage stuff. They may do custom, but that part on J&P not what is on the STF setup. The entry to the muffler is different.

Here's what I've found so far: IT'S ALL DISCONTINUED!
Found some part numbers to search for...seems they are SE parts, or CVO Rod Glide...WTH?
Looks like they'll need ceramic/powder coat if we can find them. Here are the Harley part numbers:
Shark fin tips 65263-97
Exhaust/mufflers that fit shark fin tips: 65259-00 65976-96 65255-96 65980-97 65979-96 and 65281-96
Installation doc defining which kit for what bikes. http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_us...ts/-j00724.pdf
That's all the progress I've made so far. A lot of ended auctions. I'll try to bring in the springer pros SPRINGER, hspring03 and Joe_G and see if they can help.
