Default Service Manuals

I have a 2010 fatboy. Someone on CL is selling a service manual for 2008 softails for $35.00. Is there much of a difference if any between years?

I don't know but if it were me I'd get the 2010 model year manual.

Unreal...$20 difference between the service manual for your scoot and one close to your year. You do realize that for $48 and a minimum of 100 for the free shipping you can get the manual specific for your scoot?

Sometimes the 20% off guys offer free shipping for $49.00 or over.

Buy the manual for YOUR BIKE - then you won't have to ask if things are the same. If you plan to do any work yourself $10 - $20 saving could cost you $$$ if that 1 thing you need info on changed. $$$$ bike, HD service manual.

Get the right one. They're always on ebay.

I just looked at eBay prices for those manuals and they are ridiculous, couple of the scammers asking $100+. Used manuals sell for $25-30 tops. Like I posted earlier, they sell for new online $48.

the biggest difference between the manuals would be the wiring diagram. in 2011, HD changed a bit of the wiring to run the trip-o-meter to the handlebars rather than to the console. um.. that's about it. but you should buy a physical manual somewhere. it's worth the cost.

I have to add my 2 cents. Purchasing the correct service manual is the best investment you can make for your bike. Get a new Harley manual for your year / model.
