Default What Rear Tire Would You Put On The Back Of A Deuce?

My rear tire is worn out. We ride two-up much of the time on our 2002 loweredDeuce. The bike's wheels and tires are stock right now. the front is fine. So I'm just replacing the rear. I don't intend to buy a new wheel but if I had to do some minor work or spend a little bit of money - say $100 or less - for parts to change sizes I'd probably do it. Otherwise everything stays stock.

So what tire would you go for? I don't care about price and I don't care what brand is on the bike other than it perform well. Oh, and I don't really care very much about one that will last for an extraordinary number of miles.

If I had a Deuce, and within the parameters you described, either a Metzeler or Avon will serve you well, performance wise.
They are softer, which will deliver less longevity, but they track in the rain far superior than the stock Dunlops.

I didn't wait formy stockersto wear out, after the second time of going sideways from wet roads, I literally took them off and threw them away.

G'day Kong, my other bike is a Suzuki Hayabusaand I only use Bridgestone Battlax BT020 tyres. The BT020's are a good wearing performance tyre. My Haybusa has 185hp at the crank and I like to takeadvantage of the grunt, therear tyre stands up very well to the abuse.

When I need to put a new rear tyre on the Night Trainit will be a Bridgestone Battlax BT020 as I know I'll get value for money.

Cheers Rich

I have had Metzler for the last two tires - very happy with ride and confidence (read stick to it).
