Any brackets work well besides Cycle Visions for Leather hard bags?
Bought some Road King bags for the wife's Fatboy Lo. I know the Cycle Vision bag mounts are good but not sure about spending $300 on something that she doesn't even know if she will like yet.
With the hard leather bags is the rear support that connects the bags needed? That seems to be the only difference between the other mounts which are less than half as much. Seems silly that a little connector bracket is that much...

I have extended hard bags on mine, and I put a klockwerks stretched fender on it to match the length of the bags. I can't use the crossover on mine because of the shape of the new fender. I have been running mine without it for a few months with no problem. They seem to stay in place just fine. Hope this helps

I have had these for 5 years and run road king custom bags with them. You do need the lower support on them though, otherwise I would be afraid the plastic backing would crack and fail at some time. I made an offer under $100 and they took it.

I have never had the cross bracket on or looked for one. I have multiple 14 plus trips loaded down for camping and never noticed or been told the bags were flexing in. No wear marks on fender either that indicate it as well. Only thing that I changed was the quick detach pins to button head aliens w a u nut and associated washers.
