I'm editing this thread rather than making a new one.

Decided to pull the trigger on a new windshield for my 08 Fatboy, but I want a Long Ride Shields windshield on it, which leaves me buying all of the mounting hardware separately.

Only place I've found that sells ALL necessary hardware is Klock Werks, but even then... that kit doesn't look too safe. It looks like it just sits on there.

Anyone have any other companies that sell all hardware minus the shield? I need EVERYTHING. Mounts, brackets, braces, nuts and bolts, etc.

 

I have a heritage and with 16 inch apes and I love it. I done 10 hours straight and it was very comfortable and relaxing. I have the stock windshield for the heritage. I even have a windshield for my other softail.

 

I have a fatboy LO with 14" Apes and the HD Kingsize QD windshield with a 17" med smoked Long Ride Shields re-curve windscreen. Sorry no photos but I will try to post one later.

It does a good job keeping bugs and stones off my face. I don't get any head buffeting but I do get the buffeting coming up from below the shield and fuel tank. I have bought a set of the JES custom fangs to stop this but have not installed them yet.

I would keep an eye out on Craigslist or ebay and buy the used HD one then add the new LRS windscreen.
