Default Lay down plate w/ tombstone issue

I have the HD lay down curved license plate on my Deluxe. Looks awesome, but the mounting post that mounts behind the tail light to hold the top of the plate is where my problem is. With that mounting plate coming up from under the light, the gasket doesnt sit nice and flush with the fender. There is a good gap there that will let water in. Has anyone else had this happen??

I am sure my did the same thing, but if you install the new bracket right where the old bracket was, I wouldn't think it will be an issue. The gasket was not notched for the bracket but when I removed the old one it had an impression, where it was. I think the rubber will relax after a while.

With the summer heat and humidity coming on you should be fine. I put a SoftBrake license plate relocation bracket and tombstone tail light housing on my Deluxe last year and I had the similar problem. But after a little tweaking and holding my mouth the right way I finally got it on; the heat took care of the rest.

I installed it on my Deluxe last weekend. Every part of it fits perfectly. Did you follow the instructions closely?

A picture or two would be nice. I've ready your description about 5 times and I have no idea what you mean by things like "mounting plate", "mounting post", "top of the plate" and "gasket". Let water into what?
