Good thought on the fans. I just revised my tune to run only 13.8 AFR at idle and cruise areas, no closed loop 14.6 crap. Bike ET's are a lot cooler now around town.

I have not seen anything good on key relocation for BO- actually, most of the guys with tank mounted keys do the mod that relocates it to where ours is now. I guess you always want what you ain't got. ;p

I recall a post by a member here who moved the key switch to the rear part of frame by swingarm sort of near the left passenger footrest. had a tab welded on. that's a decent idea.

Dog nailed it on the head. Put the bike together with the new paint and let it marinate for a while dude.

When I was doing my paint I had the same feeling Dog describes. I didn't know where to stop with the modding, my mind was all over the place with ideas on color, air cleaner, pegs, seat and everything else.

I literally forced myself to pause after I put the bike back together. Now I'm riding it and enjoying the hell out of it while I plan my next move with the seat color, mid controls and open primary.

I'd stick with Dog's advice.

Ya I caught that post too. Good to here you've been enjoying the powervision. My tune is spot on but later on I plan on some compression and heads and maybe another cam. I'll want some extra cooling for sure. No matter what we do these bikes run hot and it's always been that way, but heat is the number one killer when it comes to engines.

Yep and lean AFR = heat. the whole narrow band O2 thing with 14.6 is for EPA and MPG. think back to Evo / carb days, you would tune for 13.5 AFR and hitting WOT with the accell pump would get you to 12.6 - you would generally tune around those numbers richer / leaner as needed.

Now, wide band O2 is a different story- bad ***. you could run closed loop on the entire AFR range. but the HD ECM can't operate in WB mode so that's a no go- unless you replace the ECM with a TwinTech or something like that.

short of it is, if your VE's are tuned in properly for the bike, you can strictly use the AFR table to set your engine richer / leaner. running 13.8 for idle / cruise, 13.2 for medium loads and 12.8 to 12.5 for WOT / heavy loads is totally fine- and will make for a cooler running motor. no you won't get Prius-like mileage but anything in the 30's I'm ok with.

Thanks Chris, Alain, Jeff, and Dog. I believe you are all right. I'm sitting around with nothing to ride way over thinking my mods because I'm bored.

I'm hoping that 24 hrs from now I will have my bike back. Sad part is it's supposed to rain the next 5 days. If it does it totally keeps me from enjoying my bike for a while. Smh...

No prob man, always enjoy reading the posts on the forum about 98% of the time. There are a great bunch of members on here , most of which are pretty helpful. Now after you get on the road and you build that big motor I still have dibbs on those heads from Scott's place. I have a feeling that's in your future to top off the build. Now put it together and show some pics! Lmao.... It's Nice to see how these bike can be transformed into personalized works of art. Keep it up everyone.
