Could some one tell me what kit this is to angle the plate back like in the picture, thanks.

The curved lay-down bracket for the tombstone taillight is part#67900007. I haven't seen a flat one like in the picture. Might be home made.

I would also suspect home made. Easily done with a piece of alum.

 

Bikers Choice & Drag Specialties makes one for the fender, easy install. The one in the photo looks to be attached to the to brake light, Lay Down License Plate Mount Bracket for Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe would be a decent google start. Haulen *** Tombstone Lay Down License Plate would be one choice...

Kuryakyn makes one, I just mounted one on my DeLuxe yesterday. part 3181. Nice lookin piece and I rarely buy from Kuryakyn.

 

My current plate mount looks like the attached pic, could someone whose done this tell me how the support arm that the arrow is pointing at mounts, is it bolted on under the tailight or part of it? I want to remove it so I can change the angle of my license plate. Thanks

 

I took my fender off rather than fighting the cramped space to get the tombstone off. 3 screws to get the lens off, underneath remove the 7/16 nut and pop the cover from the clip. There will be 2 screws holding the clip base to the bracket you're talking about. Remove it but make sure you have a couple of washers to replace that bracket and re-attach the clip inside the fender.


I've notice quite a few folks are replacing the tombstone and tag holder with 'Softbrakes' tag relocater and tombstone fixture. Cost delivered was around $130. His webpage was down but the number for ordering works, mine was here within 3 days.

+1 for the Softbrake kit. Just put it on this winter. Ordered mine through J&P, got them in a couple days.
