Had a stage 4 package quoted from my local stealership..

What's everyone's thoughts on the 259e cam?? Is it worth going to the 266 cam to make better use of the compression?

Congrats brother, nice color. Don't ask what we would do for cams, you'll get 500 different answers - not that they are all bad answers, mind you, but it will still leave you confused. I would urge you to call Hillside Cycle, or Bob Woods at Woods Cams. Hillside does a LOT of current Twin Cams and participates openly on all of the good forums. A lot of guys here run their heads / cams packages, with good results

Bob Woods is a treasure of knowledge, he knows his stuff and is always good to talk to.

The reason I'm sayin take the time to call and ask what your options are is you'll get a straight educated answer from someone who knows these motors, their strengths / weaknesses, and your best bang for the buck.

Also consider any future upgrades- For example, let's say you want to just throw in a cam now, some pipes, and a tuner. Ok cool. But let's say later on you want to do heads and raise compression. Did you waste money on that cam purchase, or did you get a cam that can help you now plus have room to grow into other motor upgrades?

Me personally, there are better options out there than the SE cams, and WAY better options than the Stage 4 package (for that kind of money, just sayin). .
