Show me your "Fangs"...

Sitting behind the windshield stops direct wind and debris from hitting you, but wind blows up from below due to the low pressure. This can be extremely unpleasant on a long ride. The wind deflectors redirect air into that vortex and equalize the pressure.
I am having them powdered black so that they blend in and stick out less.

I been tossing around the idea of getting some fangs for my Slim. If I get then I want to get them powder coated when I send my passing lamps to get powder coated, I have a quick release windshield. Most of the pics I see the bikes have a windshield. Most of the time I ride without the windshield. My question is, how is it with the fangs without a windshield? Do you still get the same effect without the windshield? Thanks

I had the same problem until I realized they will only fit on the outside of the rubber grommets. Harley in their catalog even has it wrong. That is why there is no windshield mounted on their pictures
Threads getting old but I had to relate this to others. Installed crash bars on my new 2016 Heritage today. Decided to install the fork wind deflectors (fangs) to see if I like the look. Took 1.5 hours to get them to clear turn signals and crash bars....pain in the neck. Go to reinstall wind shield and it will not go back on because the back of the q/r mount now hits the upper edge of the fangs and if I tilt it forward the windshield hits the fog lamps. Pi**ed me off so much I beat one flat with a hammer. (old finish carpenter) I am very skilled in accurately measuring objects, it's my job. These will H-D #57400143
