Just mentioning another (less expensive) alternative.

I don't ride without the bags any longer, but when I did, I replaced the studs with fender rail screws.

What I can't recall is if I had to cut any of the screws down to length.

I believe HD has an option to change to quick detach that may be an option also.

This is what the bike looks like with the HD quick release for the bags and the backrest.

Great bike. The Quick attach looks great and within minutes you can really change the function, and look of the Heritage.

I don't have these but I have purchased other stuff from him and was very impressed with the quality and a nice guy to work with. I used his dash rail kit.

That setup is really clean. Any idea what it costs? Not really looking to spend a lot of cash on it since the bags don't take long to remove stock...

The quick detach saddlebag conversion kit plus docking hardware is about $250. Then, if you want a quick detach sissy bar, you'll have to purchase new side plates and docking hardware for that which will be another $200± depending on the side plates you want.

So, all together it will be around $450-$500 to make the conversion to all quick detach bags and sissy bar.

Isn't THAT special! Typical Motor Co highway robbery. I actually have a sissy bar from a '01 Fat Boy that has quick release plates. Pretty sure that would work if I get the docking hardware?
