Default 07 Deluxe,...front forks

Anyone do one of these fork changes on a Deluxe? Do I really need to drain the forks to do this like the instructions say or like the manuel says just too pull them out?

did you buy complete forks already assembled? if so you can install the forks assembled without taking them apart.

Did you already by the set that are "springs"? If not I would consider the monoshocks. Its the difference like night and day. When I put mine on I went with a 2" drop up front but it was so stiff that I went back in to change it to a 1" drop. I LOVE the control it gives me in a bad situation.

I have a 1" drop up front on my deluxe , i thought about going with 2" but the thought of it being to stiff is a no go for me .

I didn't change the length at all, just got the chrome ones that are the same as stock. Honestly, I didn't even know there was different length sliders.

1 3/8" is the socket you'll need for the end cap, Available on eBay or Dennis Kirk.
If you're replacing the sliders on the fork tubes, you'll end up disassembling the whole unit, so maybe I'm missing something.

you dont have to disassemble the whole unit! pull the front wheel, fender and caliper off. drain the fork oil, pull the screws at the bottom of the fork and slide the lowers off. installation is a bit more work as i think the seal can be a bit bitchy.
