Default New bars = New cables

I'm getting a set of 14" apes on my 07 Deluxe. I know I need a longer brake line, clutch, throttle and controls. But I'm not sure how much longer over stock I need to get (BTW, doing all the work myself). I was told by a few people that 6" over stock should be good. What kind of bars do you have and how much over stock did you have to go? Thanks in advance.

Yeah 6" is about where you wanna be. I installed 16" apes and used 10" over stock because the independant bike shop I went to didn't have any other sizes and they worked just fine. So that goes to show you can always use too much but not too little.
