Default Can someone school me on hand grips

I'm looking at alternatives to my current stock grips on my 2006 Heritage.
Looking on Ebay I see prices from $20 up. 1st question are these grips any good or a waste of money? 2nd many grips sold do not have any inners for the throttle hookup. When buying these can you use your current insert? Would the new grips slide over the insert? I've yet to take apart my grips so I'm not sure how the setup works. Any help would be a appreciated.

Sounds like you are looking at just the skin of the grip ?

I have never seen any good grip under $80 bucks personally.

it's all in perspective...I have $18 dollar Biltwell Kung Fu Grips on mine and love em. I cut the stock grips off and slid on the rubber ones using an air compressor to blow air in and they slide right on

on the other hand, my girlfriend has those Get-a-Grip ones on hers and they're pretty awesome....and they come with the throttle sleeve attached

Those cheap $20 ones are Chinese knockoffs for the most part. The real thing, whether Kuryakyn or Avon or whatever will be $60, even on eBay.

Don't over-analyze this. You're talking about grips.

As with anything, there are inexpensive ones and there are expensive ones. Find ones you like that fit your budget, put them on and go with them.

Got a pair of solid grips off eBay for 1in bars, I have 1in bars and they don't fit, sometimes its worth the extra to avoid the hassle.

Don't forget that grips come in different outside diameters - some smaller, some bigger than stock.

The most comfortable grip (and it is far more comfortable than stock) that I've used are the ISO Grips. They are available in Black or Chrome.

They are complete, just remove the old ones and put these on...everything you need included.

Pic of some black ones on one of my bikes- You can see the Chrome ones HERE
