Default Twin Cam Softail Oil Lines

I've never liked the looks of the stock hard oil lines on the twin cam softail. Unfortunately, Harley doesn't make it easy to just install stainless braided lines due to the quick connect fittings in the oil tank. I had pulled one of the quick connect fittings out of the oil tank just to see what it looked like. By luck I found a fitting online that looked exactly like the end of the hard oil lines. I ordered one and it is exactly the same. I can put the quick connect plastic piece and the o-rings on it and it slides right into the oil tank and now I can screw an AN6 oil fitting on the end and convert my lines to braided stainless steel. On the end going into the engine, I'm going to get rid of the quick connect fittings and use an adapter fitting to thread into the engine where the quick connects were originally threaded in. One side will be threads for an AN6 fitting and on the side going into the engine, will be the correct threads for the quick connect fitting that is in there right now.

I've looked all through the tech manual and online and can't find an answer to my question.

Does anyone know the size of threads that screw into the engine on the quick connect fittings?

Nice find dude. Can you put up a link to where you found that?

Wish I could help you with the thread size.

This is the fitting I found. It slides tight into the oil tank and stays in place no problem. Only thing is, its from Hong Kong. Took about a week to get here in the mail.

You must be able to buy the braided lines as a kit. I bought a 2002 Fat Boy last March and all the oil lines are braided.

@ mac1313 Thanks for finding that. I didn't even see those o-ring bosses until I read your post. Again, thank you very much.

Please post complete item description once completed. I too do not like the look, I was going to try and powder coat them so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. All input would be appreciated!

I run synthetics and change it every 2500 miles, a complete 100% clean oil change. Tranny Synthetic, before I park it for winter every year no matter how many miles are on it. Primary, synthetic. Before I park it for the winter every year no many how many miles are on it. New filter of course and new o rings every time i pull the plugs too. Obsessive? It is what it is.
