I have been trying to decide which bags to put on my deluxe and like the Crossbones bags but the dealership says they don't fit.. has anyone done this or have pics?

 

If the price of HD bags are in reason for you, check into leatherpro bags. Price is comparable, but better quality, quick detach, and lockable. Garry is a standup guy. I bought two sets from him over the years.

 

Interesting. If you look them up on Harley's website they don't list the Crossbones for your Deluxe. For example, the Fat Boy bags are the same part number for both of
our bikes, 88286-07, but the Crossbones bags fit mine but not yours. My guess is that they will bolt up just fine but there must be some other issue. Get someone to give
you measurements on the Crossbones bags and I will measure the Harley bags I have and see if there is a dimensional difference.

I measured mine and they are 12 High, 6 deep and 17 long with the main difference mine being angled instead of straight up/down.

I was talking to my bud in parts about the Crossbones bags a few weeks ago. I was looking for a bag that was taller than what I have now. The Crossbones are pretty much the same dimension as what I have now. The bags I have now will fit a Deluxe so I can't see what the difference would be except the exhaust. That's also what my friend said.

You can look at the pick of my bike below and compare it to yours to see if it is anything obvious.

 

I bought a set of crossbones bags to install on my wife Deluxe. THEY DO NOT FIT. At least not without a 2" spacer on the drive side of the wheel. The bags hit the swingarm bad. The Crossbones bags are designed for a softtail with the 200mm rear tire and wider fender. The Deluxe has a 150mm tire and narrower fender.

They do look badass though and fit the style of the Deluxe.
