Default Headlight Bulb - Whats your choice?

I am new to this awesome site and had a quick question:

I just had the stock bulb go out in my headlight but instead of just replacing it with the $5.99 PepBoys special I was wondering if any of you have installed upgraded bulbs, and if so what are your opinions (night time viewing, daytime visibility, wire upgrade, looks, etc.)?

Thanks

I don't know if it will fit in your bike or not, but I'm sure you can get one that fits.

It's a PIAA H4 bulb. It's looks quite a bit brighter than the stock (they say twice as much output but doesn't draw any more power/amps). I wanted a brighter bulb but didn't want to touch the wires. It's a bit pricey, but I'm happy with it.

I replaced mine with the 'Blue' type of halogen bulb (Don't know if that is legal in the US) but over here loads of people are using them and they are very bright at night. The other thing is when you follow a car the light shows a blue hue now and again when the road is bumpy which causes the moron in front to think its the police and moves out of the way ![sm=massbounce.gif]

I use PIAA on spots and main. At a total of 150.00 it is not cheap but looks killer.

Hey, thanks to you all for the opinions. It looks like PIAA is the way to go but of course they have 3 different types of H4 bulbs. My spots are sealed beams from HD. Where did you find spots with replaceable bulbs? I would hate to cruise around with two 10 candlepower spots and a 1000 canglepower main.

Thanks!

Adjure and other brands have non sealed light so you can swap out the bulbs. PIAA makes a lot of different lights. The higher the number on the spark blue the more blue the light. There is a misconseption that the higher the number on the spark blue series the more bright the blub. But the oppisite is true. The higher the number the more blue it is but the dimmer the light. I use the super whites on the spots and the 7500 spark blue in the main lamp.
