You should be able to resize the photos in your computer to a size the forum will accept.

The dealer also said that certain types of brake cleaner will remove paint and finish. Is there a certain brand that anyone suggests?

I can send you the brand that I bought at my local Meijers supermarket, but most Brake cleaners are safe.

That wet area in your photo looks much the same as mine did - I first thought it was from the leaking rocker cover, but after sorting that, it was still there, then I fixed the oil tank drain line and the small ribber tube in the oil delivery line and no more oil in that area.

Clean it up real well and try some high temp. silicone in clear (not red) to seal it up; worth a try.

Yeah, some of you might end up with some serious crotch itch...

Thanks for all the input. The local dealer seemed hesitant to talk in depth about it or give any possible temporary remedies. I guess that's why he has a job lol. You guys are a big help for a noob like me. I'm gonna pick up the brake cleaner tomorrow. I already have some black silicon gasket maker from my last bike. I think I am gonna get the area clean then try and find exactly where it's coming from. If it is the case seam that is faulty, there is no sense in cracking it open if I'm not gonna throw some extra goodies in there.

Be carefull the brake clean you use isnt high in acetone. That stuff eats paint. I use starting fluid or contact cleaner.

Is this one of those situations were you can first clean and degrease then use Permatex flowable silicone windshield & glass sealer. The # on my tube is 65AR. Clean and dry surfaces to be sealed, apply glass sealer onto leak source, remove excess, let cure for at least 24 hours. Then use dino oil from that point on instead of synthetic since synthetic is able to find leaks much easier.

I'm gonna clean the area tomorrow morning then ride around for a bit and try and identify the exact leak point. Does brake cleaner have a benefit over the contact solution or simple green? I'm sure I could find something around the house unless I'm better off with the brake cleaner
