Welcome dude. This place is indeed full of good peeps and tons of knowledge. Is this your first Harley? These things, especially the older ones are know for leaks lol.
Like these other guys said your issue is not terribly urgent. Just keep an eye on the oil level from time to time and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the bad/good news. I will take that as a character plus. I cant blame the last guy for not informing me because he didnt seem as ****-retentive as I am. I doubt he even noticed. Other than the leak, this bike is as smooth as silk. I love everything about it. I really appreciate the quick response. I can already tell this forum is full of good people.

I just took it to the dealer this morning to have the service guys take a look at it. they believe its the horizontal gasket that connects the two cases and not the vertical seem. They made the problem seemed much more serious once I told them my bike wasnt covered under an extended warranty lol. A rough quote from the service manager was anywhere from 700 to over 1000 depending on which seem was the issue. I am just kicking myself in the *** hoping I didnt get someone elses problems.
