Default Temp gauge/Dip stick???

Which dip stick/temp. guage do you guys reccomend for my fatboy. I would like to be able to keep an eye on oil temp., especially in the Texas heat. Is the HD LCD one good? Any others I should look at?

I like the look of the regular HD one as well. Is this the one you put on ST DEUCE?

Are the dipsticks the same length as the OEM dipstick? I only ask b/c I had a guy tell me he bought the LCD gauge and the dipstick was so short, it didn't register any oil on it. Didn't make sense, but just thought I would ask.

I've got it and I need to go back and talk to them, sometimes mine doesn't read the level and sometimes it does.

I assume you mean the LCD gauge. Don't really want to spend that much. Probably will go with the non-digital, any reports on that one?

I have the analog stick in my Heritage and it works well.
You can test in in boiling water to check the accuracy.
Mine was pretty close.

I just bought one for my Fatboy. It works really well. I think it looks better than the lcd one too.

In MHO , Analog is the way to go. One glance and you have an idea of where your oil temp is. With the digital, you have to push a small button, and with winter gloves, that's was a problem for me.

I also have the "dial type", very accurate (checked with a hand held temp gun), dipstick is true also...

Doesn't make sense to me either.. if the stick doesnt touch the oil.. how does it measure the temp?? I went with the analog one and it works well
