I too ride manage to ride all year long even in Nebraska.
However there is times where-as it will be parked for a extended time.
With today's quailty of gas I doubt there's any real risk of problems if the gas is let to sit for six or so months but there's certainly no harm in putting in Stabil.
The price of Stabil just isn't so much to not add it.
Fill the tank and put in Stabil.
Then take it for one last 30 minute ride, park it in the garage, put it on your jack (strapped down of course), cover the bike and slid it out of the way.

I always keep it full and until last yr I always used Sta-Bil... But, last yr I didn't and didn't have an issue at all.
I should say we still have and I still only use/buy, premium 93 octane "NON-Ethanol" gas in our bike...
If you can only get Ethanol gas, then its a different story...
