Default Did my first TC B motor bottom end today.

I have always dreaded the day I would have to strip a TC Softie motor down to the crank and back again but today I did one and without any of the special tools for the balancer shaft assembly.....easy as! Nothing to be scared of, in fact it was fun.

Just thought I would share that with y'all

Yup. Done a few. I wish I had the balancer tensioner piston holder tool though. Congrats.

When i did mine i just removed the whole balancer assembly...un-needed weight and with the HP i'm putting out i run the risk of breaking the chain. Had the crank work done at revolution performance..vibrates a little more at idle but nothing even close to the rubber mounted engines

I had the balancer assembly in a bag (balancers, bearings, etc) and if i were to guess it was probably around 10 -12 lbs

I agree 100%, it would make the job way quicker. I was a little shocked at how much wear was on the front tensioner at only 36,000 miles though....probably would need replacing at 80-90K

When I did mine at 90k they were almost 50% worn and brittle. HD wouldnt sell me the tool. Hope I dont have to split this motor for a long time.
