His bike is a 2013 w/o ABS. Not sure if I would do this mod on an ABS equipped bike. Plus this mod needs a little bit more than basic wrenching skills.

I don't see why you couldn't do it on an ABS bike? The ABS just regulates the fluid, so unless that caliper is wildly different than the stock one in force I can't see it being an issue.

What do you mean by more than basic wrenching skills? The guy in the link cut it into his swingarm for cosmetic reasons. I don't believe there is any reason you cannot just bolt it up as intended.

you reckon it's pretty much a bolt on or you will need to weld a new tab on the swing arm?

From what I understand the caliper bracket goes around the axle in place of the spacer on that side.

Most if not all the kits require welding.

ABS is a system that you would want to rely not only in case of emergency. After a mod like this I personally would like to check the proper functionality of the system in case it would need recalibration, my .02

I was referring to the specific way he did the mod with cutting the swing arm an welding new brackets. At least I couldn't do it with basic wrenching skills .

Wow those setups are expensive. Guess the brake rotor is staying where it is. Thanks for the help fellas.
