Default evo smoking at idle has me stressin!!

I just noticed my 99 softail evo smoking at idle on the back cylinder. As soon as I roll on the throttle it quits. It also seems like it is only doin it after it warms up. Dad says the smoke has a gas smell like its running rich? It also puffs smoke right when it fires up initially when I first crank it daily. Any help greatly appreciated! When I turn it off the smoke is kind of barely rolling out of exhaust too if that helps.

Maybe an exhaust valve guide if using oil or if you smell gas maybe a rich mixture. What do the plugs look like? Should be a nice tan if you shut it down after a long run before it comes to idle. How does it run? Have you checked for intake leaks? Just a few ideas.

I will check plugs tomorrow an get back to you. If it is rich the smoke doesn't have to be black does it? An could it be rich on only one cylinder? Seems to be running fine.

White smoke is water
Blue smoke is oil
Black smoke is fuel

How many miles on the top end?

When was the air filter last changed or cleaned, if it's real dirty it could cause a rich mixture.

I agree, but carburation can cause bluish smoke at initial start. After that it can be black or clear up..
