Question Need help with highway pegs. Brake is hitting extension.

2002 FLSTS. Don't ask why, but finally today after 12 years of having highway pegs too far away, I moved them up to a far more comfortable location. Puts a little flex in my knees, very comfortable. The way the were, adjusted more forward, my legs were nearly straight and my feet were not as comfortable on the highway peg. I adjusted the arm that connects to bike, not the actual peg. Anyway go for a ride just now and my size 16 boots barely can depress the front shifter on the left and when pushing brake, it only goes down about 25% till it hits the highway peg extension bar. What the hell. Anyone got any ideas? If I take it back away from me, I'm back where I started. Very uncomfortable. Where it is don't work. Would really like to not fight this bike to ride it. Need some new parts perhaps.

Your pictures suck. I can't tell where they are mounted or how. The first pics are too small and the next set are not close enough to the HW pegs.

Put a crash bar on it, then mount hiway pegs to that. Then you can put em wherever you find comfortable!
