Default Can't figure out correct service manual for my HD

Bike is a 2000 road king FLHPI. I found and ordered the supplemental police manual to cover the changes. But which model is this bike based off? Had efi so I think it would be a road king classic?

If you know the number for the book, I'd very appreciative.

Thanks
Mike

You just need a touring service manual for your year, it covers all the standard models.

It's best to have the Touring model SM and the Police supplement--the latter because of the docs in wiring. Maintenance, torque, etc. are the same.

Default 2001 FLHPI manual

I bought the Clymer version. Really thin on any of the efi issues. Is there a specific Magnetti Marelli version out there? The local HD shops won't touch my bike, and the mom and pop shops all say carb kit. If I had the money, then yes I would. I'm coming off disability and may actually get to ride. Now for the standard MM blues.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first post. If you want a manual that's specific to your bike I recommend you buy the factory service manual from Harley, unfortunately, with a bike that age it might be hard to source. Clymer's are just generic, basic manuals, not really worth the money..

For manuals, here's my recomendation or the 2000 touring bikes (includes RoadKings) -
OEM service manual
OEM part manual
OEM Police supplement manual
OEM police parts manual

I would search on eBay for those older manuals. I doubt Harley still produces them. You may find DVD on eBay that contains those manuals.

Are you having issues with the MM system?
I often read online recommendations to convert the MM FI to carburetor, but I don’t hear of any specific issues. I also see the MM ECMs for sale at reasonable $.
I wonder if they have a high failure rate or maybe they don’t accept performance upgrades well, or maybe just folks replacing the system as insurance against having a problem?
