Android Auto on Motorcycles
Just as Harley Davidson is telling us that Android Auto is no longer supported on motorcycles KTM is announcing the service on new bikes.

From the article KTM run "Android Automotive" OS it's not the same as CarPlay (where you have vehicle manufacturer OS and carplay is just one of the "apps"). I, for one, wouldn't like to see HD go that route.
edited to add link to AA.

The IFCU runs on the Android operating system. (Along with another one called QNX). . The prototypes had Android Auto enabled, but for some reason it was pulled and never made production.
Where the AA icon once resided is now an empty spot. All that should be required to enable AA is a software update.. Maybe in 2025??

Reading the article in OP link I’ve got a little confused, so started to google a little: android auto and android automotive are two different products. Here are more details. OP’s link talks about KTM running android automotive, which is full blown OS that’s running on vehicle’s head unit instead of a phone or tablet, while android auto is a way to use head unit as display, similar to CarPlay, so all the apps are running on the phone, instead of head unit.
