Default HD Parts Pricing

Do you guys run into this too?

The HD website lists this primary cover gasket for $53.85, but you can't buy online. So I go to one of the local dealers and get one, for a price of $60.95. $7 more isn't going to kill me, but when they shut off the veteran discount and then actually charge more for parts than what HD lists them at doesn't do much for brand loyalty.

/whining 🤣

Two choices...
Get a Cometic gasket for 1/3 less, or go in the lounge and eat $7 worth of donuts.

Third choice - say "what the hell, Harley's website shows it for less." Bring up the website price on your phone. I've had to do this a couple of times, and they've price-matched Harley's site each time.

That didn’t work last time I tried, but I’ll try again next time.

^^^^^^
This

I am OEM gasket loyal for some of the gaskets/seals on my bikes, but the Primary Cover is not one of those. After markets work just as well and I've gone thru a lot of them over the years with all my comp and adjuster swaps and issues. I got a 5 pack of Cometic off of eBay once for $75........ Lasted long time.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't find a Cometic primary cover gasket for a 22 Heritage 114 anywhere.

Looks like Parts Giant has them in stock and it says $37.29 and free shipping on the web site. Seen the link below.

Yep! It happened with my adjustable rocker arms! I was fortunate to find a set here in the classifieds.

Damn, I miss Surdyke!

Glad you found one at PG. I am all Cometic, all the time for gaskets, whenever possible

I ran into this last winter when I started my upgrade, the only damn Primary gasket I could find in stock was a James from DK. I used it, but I am still skeptical of that brand.
