Default 98 evo randomly loses power

Hi I have a 1998 evo softail and need help figuring out why when I'm riding, the bike will randomly lose power then a pop from exhaust. Sometimes it will die while riding other times it won't. Sometimes it will die 10 feet from my house when leaving. It then starts back up just fine. the coil and plugs are good. Has drag pipes. Thanks.

Battery cable connections would be a good place to look. Both ends, including the ground.
Maybe clogged fuel filter or petcock filter, or the carb needs cleaning/rebuild.

I'd check the ignition inside the round cover on the cam cover. Look for discoloration or something oozing off the pickup. Then check the petcock for fuel flow. I believe that model came with a vacuum controlled fuel flow petcock and they will fail over time.

Review inside of tank for possible tank liner release or random garbage.
The garbage blocks fuel flow, bike cuts off and trash moves away...then repeats.
