@Driving HD I have moved this thread from the Welcome section to the Dyna Glide Models section as you will get better responses to your question in this section.
The Welcome section is more for introducing yourself & letting other forum members know what Harley Davidson you own. Please feel free to post a new thread back in the Welcome area to introduce yourself.

At that age, some parts are no longer available at a Harley dealership. They seem pretty reliable but one never knows.
See issue on the signal light, bankangle system and alarm or immobilizer if that bike has one is also the signal light also. That simple part is no longer available and if it goes, bike won't run.
For 300 mile rides, I personally would look for a much newer bike without any modifications.
Now if your looking for a garage queen and biggest bragging rights at a local watering hole where the bus service is handy, go for it.
Now I could be totally wrong if bike was well modified and hasn't been abused. These roller bearing motors are tough but unlike sleeve bearing car motors are a little noisy. Usually will open loud exhaust.
Unless your an expert, it's hard for even them with a stethoscope sometimes to tell good from the bad.
Hope you stick around and stay with us. Enjoy the HDFORUM as much as a Harley you find.

I'd be especially interested in receipts and work orders for the mods done...
IMHO... well matched, properly installed, expertly tuned, and properly maintained mods to a bike, if not abused by the rider, can last as long, and be as reliable as an OEM bike.
My current trip bike, is a '16 Ultra Classic with a 124" S&S crate engine from FuelMoto, tuned by Jaime @ FuelMoto, and meticulously maintained by me. I have put 25K on that bike/engine combo in the last five years, almost all multi-day trip mileage, without a hiccup. I have 3 other bikes that get my day ride mileage...
It could be an absolute gem, or a money pit... but that is the same for any used bike. The wax and polish does not always hint at what lies underneath in the driveline.
The trick is always to inspect and make a judgement call on where a used bike most likely lies between Gem & Money Pit.....
Good luck with your inspection and decision....
