Default Considering a 2008 Dyna Low Rider

2008 Harley Dyna Low Rider for Sale in Homestead, FL - OfferUp

Considering purchasing the low rider in the link above. Currently on a 21 RKS, but have always been attracted to dynas, so thinking about adding it to the garage for the right price.

Anything you all recommend I look out for if I go and take a look at it?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

Too much Money. Private Sale should be less than retail.

All the obvious things… oil leaks, frayed cables and wires. Date codes on tires… is the rear tire leaning one way or another, I say this because I just fixed that on mine. Motor mounts are also a weak point, again something I just fixed. Has it been tuned if any modifications have been made. Timing chain tensioners aren’t supposed to be as big an issue on the later model ones but another thing to consider. I’ve only owned the one dyna so I’m far from an expert, these are just things I’ve learned from ownership and lurking on here.

In my area that’s a $4000-$5000 bike.

And I’m no expert but weren’t there some weird one year only quirks in 08?

You might be thinking of the top triple tree. It has the handlebar clamp integrated into the tree, making a bar change more challenging, sometimes to the point of having to change out the top tree.

Exactly the input I was looking for, any "extra" difficulties I would be looking at. If looking for another year means easier obvious part (bars for example) swaps, then that's enough to steer me away. Thank you all for the replies
