2013 Tri-Glide start with a pin?
My brother (the rocket scientist) has a 2013 Tri-Glide. The battery, he thought went dead, but it was the FOB battery that was dead, so he says he couldn't start the trike.....
To make a long story short, Can't you start a 2013 Tri-Glide using the pin code?????????

I keep new FOB batteries on the bike. And test them each year when I renew my license plates, and at the same time put a new battery in the FOB.

If you have the FOB, you can retrieve/change your PIN.

ALL of my bikes, going back to 2003 with the factory security system COULD be started without a FOB being near the bike IF I entered my PIN number.
WITHOUT a FOB being near the bike the ONLY way the bike can be started is by knowing and entering the PIN number.
This is why it is a MUST to have your FOB (and a fresh back-up FOB battery) and to either KNOW or to have your PIN number written down somewhere (in your wallet or at home) where you can access if needed.
When you re-program your 5-digit PIN number choose a number that you WILL ALWAYS remember (DOB, ZIP CODE, etc.) and IF you DO NOT have a "back-up" FOB get one to leave at home go to the dealership and order one....just in case!
In 20+ years in owning bikes with a security systems I've only HAD to use my PIN number TWICE once when leaving a FOB at home and the other when a FOB battery unpredictably "died" after only a couple months of use.
I don't know if anything has changed with the factory security system, but a few years ago the service manager at my dealership told me that a guy from out of state came in and lost his key FOB and didn't know his PIN number and that there was nothing they could do for him!
I would like to think that there is a means to remedy a situation like this even if requires a replacement module or processor?
