Default Help in Salem OR!!!

Hi All,

I'm touring on a 2016 Harley Ultra Limited with a hydraulic clutch.

Pulling out of a parking spot at the hotel yesterday in Ocean Shores WA, I dumped the bike.

Unfortunately, it broke the clutch lever and there is only enough lever for 2-finger clutching.

Steaming through Portland yesterday, I hit heavy rush-hour traffic and if you know about the hydraulic clutch, it's a bear to begin with.

Trying to feather the clutch with only 2 fingers just about killed me!

I'm stuck in Salem OR trying to find someone with a clutch lever available.

There aren't any dealers in WA or OR that has one in stock.

Hoping someone has one they are willing to sell? I'll pay a premium for it as I really need to get back on the road as soon as possible.

The idea of being stuck in a hotel for a week waiting for one to be delivered is expensive and sets my tour back by a week.

Anyone have one they are willing to sell?

A short piece of pvc or copper pipe, shoved up into the lever stub.

A short rod or stout stick and two hose clamps to hold it onto the lever stub.

Thanks for the idea! I'm supposed to ride up to Portland this morning to pick one up from a bike parts shop. The guy says it's from another Ultra with Hydro clutch.

If for some reason it's not the right one, I'll certainly give your solution a shot.

Never thought about this.

That's why they pay you the big bucks my friend...well, they should anyways!

Any chance you can swap it with the brake lever?

If nothing else works out, I'd see if I coulf find someone to mig weld the broken pieces on until I could find a new lever.

That is what I was thinking hose clamps, and maybe a ton of tape. Maybe stick hose over it, then slide something solid in it Maybe ball of tape on end of lever to give you more to grab on it. Go to a hardware to store and make about 10 trips in out trying different things.

Other thing, plan your escape route. Leave after traffic to get out of town. Leave middle night, dawn, avoid busy areas, look at the amount of stop lights.

I can't help but I'd suggest when you get home you look into a Muller clutch slave kit,it made my 2019 Electra much more manageable to ride.
Easier pull and better friction zone than the OEM far and away.
