Not sure where to post this.....As the weather gets a little more fall like and rainy here, anyone have any rain gear that they really like and can put me in the right direction. I recently went on a trip and borrowed my dads rain gear and it worked well, it was actually Harley branded gear. Just seeing if there were other brands out there that worked, or ones to stay away from as well. TIA

 

I have Fieldsheer rain gear (2 piece jacket and pants), purchased in 2012. It still holds up, no leaks, and I've never treated it with silicone spray. Who knows about the quality these days though. The H-D rain gear appears to be a good product according some of the threads here.

 

I'm a firm believer in the HD rain gear, it's one thing I think HD got correct.

 

I have nearly new Harley Hi Vis in size 2XL. Pm me if you want to make a deal. Imho, it’s the best you can get.

 

I've had a tourmaste defender set for years. They quit making them but I see they have recently reintroduced an updated version. Don't know how good the new one is but mine has been stellar for 10 years.

 

I use HD brand rain gear over the years......so far so good!

I use the HD Hi Vis rain gear set. It has never failed me, it just works and works well. I bought my set at my local dealer, they had a 30% anything coupon for Christmas shopping one year. It ended up being less than some of the "pretty good but not great" non-HD gear.

 

I used to have the Harley hi-viz rainsuit. Used it for over 10 years and 100,000 miles. Eventually (about two years ago) the seam seals (on the inside) started peeling off and it was no longer waterproof. I was happy with how long that suit lasted and was going to buy a new one, but looking at the current version revealed that they don't make 'em like they used to. Now I ended up with a Tourmaster Sentry rain jacket and pants (sold separately, total about $170), and they work well.
Harley has a new rainsuit out now call Full Speed II that looks good, but $255 for the set (pants and jacket sold separately).

 

HD set for the wife and I and it works great, also doubles as a warm layer to cut the wind. I believe it’s priced about right compared to other high end rain gear. If you tour a lot you will not regret great gear. Buy once cry once.
