Default latest 2024 flash update dealer only?

I did all the flashes myself so far, no biggie. However, this last one is dealer only. Anyone have a guess what it is. I will skip it if not critical, my bike is running fine.

Only for Subs in the Saddlebags. If you don't have that, no reason to have it.

Do dealerships do anything for free? If you buy the setup from a dealer, I'm sure it's included in the quoted cost. If you do everything yourself, they probably charge you 30 minutes to flash and enable it.

I’m looking for a definitive answer, not speculation. I’m also inquiring about all software updates, not the subwoofer package.

I see a lot of people posting here in the forums that they “went to the dealer to have the latest update installed.” Are people really paying $50 for the dealer to do these updates? I’ve seen other people state that the dealer does the updates as a warranty claim. I can’t get a straight answer.

HD software and Firmwear for the bike are done by dealers . they may not like it but they are required to do it They may put you off depends on dealer.

Enabling/disabling functions in ECM and BCM will have a charge for that in most case.
Example enabling or disabling Light function,switch-less ignition , Programing fob, cooling fans add on radio parts, WHIM ect. Some dealers will do it free if you purchased parts from them. Those dealers are becoming fewer and fewer.

Updates for the NAV are on you unless you have some free with a cvo but still up to you to do it.

I checked online at a YouTube video for Queen City HD and it is free service there like most dealers around the nation they advertised free updates (even navigation...how nice?)
Every HD in my area is a free update for the bike.....no matter if you purchased it there or not.

But I cannot find out if that is a HD policy......

can you imagine the LW if you had to pay for updates? Or any bike if you had to pay for updates?

now you got me thinking? Good question....

our dealership will not just perform no charge TSB BCM/ECM updates..they do, however, perform them no charge when a bike is brought in for service of any kind..they connect it to see what it may or may indicate is needed and perform updates accordingly..in my case I get tires for life so I just waited for 10K to get them as well as do the 10K service without fluid changes since I always do those DIY..they prorated the 10K service to be ~ $250 without fluids, put new tires on and updated the TSBs ... I suspect those policies vary across dealerships
