ADVICE:I BOTCHED KREEMING MY TANK
Hey gang,
I bought a custom coffin tank, and tried sealing it myself. I am pretty sure there is still a little rust in there after using the KREEM A + B prep that I didnt catch until after sealing the tank with the sealent.
I am planning to run a couple cycles of gas through the tank to see what comes out.
My question is this: I have a petcock with a mesh screen. Do you think it is worth stripping out the tank and redoing the whole process, or will the mesh on the petcock save me?
THANK YOU

Ya done screwed the pooch! Ya gotta clean the tank BEFORE ya do the Kreem treatment. WHY???? The Kreem will not adhere to the tank, just the rust. The petcock filter is the least of your worries. Fill the empty tank with vinegar and let it sit for a few days. Shake occasionally. Before ya empty it, drop a large handful of nuts, washers, small bolts in it. Shake the hell outta it and drain. Rinse and let dry. THEN Kreem.

If the liner is failing, a filter is not going to help, it will just clog up.
An inline filter will just cause problems, never use one on a Harley.
Get the failed liner out of the tank.
If you are going to repaint then the process is easy, take it to a radiator shop.
After cleaning out several failed tank liners I have learned that once a tank is clean, leave it be.
I will never use any type of liner, just don`t leave the tank empty for long periods.
