Title asks it all. I searched for awhile but noticed many saddlebag crash bars fit touring models with standard bags but it appears that my "Stretched Bags" throw a curve ball to the crash bar fitment somewhere along the line.

Thoughts? Opinions? Recommendations?

Shouldn't make any difference ,as long as they are the stock Harley bags that came with bike.







Unless of coarse, you are referring to the bars that wrap around the bags.

They'll work with stretched bags.

Thanks folks. Ultimately I just went with these Asian alphabet rear saddlebag crash bars for $198. Undoubtedly knock-offs of the Burly style and probably made in the same facility as the recently but not yet available HD rear saddlebag crash bars of the same design but at 1/4 and 1/2 the price respectively.

I'm 66 and injured my right shoulder at work so I haven't been riding the past 6 months and am buying an mounting these more for protecting my legs from getting crushed or trapped and to increase my odds of being able to right my own bike should it fall over.

Do these crash bars keep the bike any higher off the ground when tipped over?

 

I can't answer that. It appears as though they may but I don't know for certain. I do like that if I do drop it I won't be scrapping out the bars but just the end pucks.

 

Man those look pretty good, I was wanting a set of the Santoro Fabworx bars but can’t bring myself to spend that much. Yours are pretty close in appearance. Do you have a link to them ?

edit/add I would ask that if anyone is considering purchasing that y’all give me a few days so I can report back on how well the installation goes and the resultant fitment.

I can report that I just got these bars in this past Sunday and plan on doing the install this coming Friday and that the welds and gloss black powder coating looks as good as any I’ve seen from HD accessories.

 

This is an easy-peazy install

Cut off the stock saddlebag supports just behind the bend. Deburr making a slight champher (crash bars are a dead nuts slip-fit). I gave the supports a spritzing of WD-40 for both rust prevention and lube for ease of assy and viola.
