Default Transmission side cover gasket application

Good morning! 2010 H-D Street Glide...

When I pull the side cover off of the transmission to replace my clutch cable, I'll be replacing the gasket as well. The gasket has the silicon beads on one side of it- does it matter if the side of the gasket with the beads is placed against the transmission case or the chrome outer cover? Clearly I'm trying to avoid any leaks...

Thanks!

In general I always put the bead outward, although it shouldn't matter.

The bead when the cover is tightened down will put pressure to the gasket and promotes sealability on both sides of the gasket.
