And so it began…

Went from wide to mid glide trees.

Ditched the massive stock breather.

Eyebrow headlight from an ironhead.

With a set of trick Vulcan engineering’s axles a set of old mags went on.

Beginning brake upgrades

Had these so when I found out they could be adapted on they went.

Lopped off about a foot from the already gutted cans. Also in this shot lifted up in the rear with 13” shocks.

Wanted a 2 into 1 but financially in attainable at the time. $50 muffler and $10 worth of pipe later.

And I left it alone like this for about a year.

Homemade 2 into 1

How it was for about a year.

Decided to try out this blue to decide if I liked it…

Still wasn’t feeling the vibe yet

That’s better!

Digging the blue I committed.

I’ve been lurking here since I bought the bike and read all the threads about night train wheel swaps. How in depth it can be.. since I had already bought the Vulcan axle I figured I’d need all new spacers at most. Two new ones later, it bolted up like factory. Aside from the phaff getting rotor on caliper kinda on wheel part🤣

I like it a lot man, that blue isn’t my hue buts it’s a cool build.

Really dig the calipers, front master and the exhaust work.

I for one love that blue color, very cool.

Just one thing, maybe you should consider supporting the throttle body with a bracket, connected to the breather bolts in the heads. I think you might be putting some load on the mounts and seals where intake meats the heads, and leaks might develop.

Something like this:

Starting to come together but wasn’t enough

YouTube taught me that geezer engineering made trees to fit my old gsxr front end. If anyone is on the fence about ordering a set don’t be! They fit the frame better than stock and the legs slid in better than they did the Suzuki trees.

Pretty crap pics but first day riding after finishing up.
