Default Road To ESTA...

So tomorrow morning Thursday the 22nd I'm going to head out on the Dyna up to Port Jeff station take the ferry over to Bridgeport and pretty much take a scenic way all the way to ESTA...

I've been this way a few times It's really a nice trip going through the southern part of the Berkshires and then cutting across a Hudson River over into the Catskills and then I'll just country roads.. I will be stopping in Columbus New York that's where my father-in-law has some property so I'll be pretty much spending my weekend there..

On Friday morning I'm going to head to Hillside Cycle to get the bike on the dyno just to make sure it doesn't need anything and then Sunday morning I'm going to head to ESTA Speedway...

I'll try to take pictures and might even go a little bit different way when it comes to the Catskills up through Saugerties.. There's a seasonal pass canyon Road that's pretty amazing..

Generally though the map below is the route I'm going to be taking.. should be a real nice day and the weather is going to be in my favor for the whole weekend..

That sounds like a nice ride for sure, break a leg on the dyno and the track

I did a variation of that ride a couple years ago. Leaving from Hillside for a three day layover in White Plains then on to DC/Virginia border for the Auto Train down to this roasting pit of hell where we live.. In August also. The first three hours out of hillside was beautiful, but the further south I went, not as much. Most everything about part 2 of the trip just sucked overall, other than the fact that I was on my bike.

I do love ferries. The Bridgeport/Port Jeff ferry is great, but the Essex/Charlotte across Lake Champlain is my fav.

Have a great time!

Things have been good mostly. Lost my wife’s mother a few weeks ago. Was rough but expected, she was ready to go and went happily in hospice. She was what brought us to this inferno, so we’re now getting ready to buy a condo or townhouse somewhere up there, less left than NY. Not perfect but thinking upstate CT or VT.

Having a hard time with the concept of leaving a bike for six months a year, but one here, and one there makes more sense then hauling two back and forth. The FXR is gone btw. Guy by me has been bugging me about it for a while and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. So I don’t have to worry about the third wheel lol. Probably going to bring the Dyna north since the speeds are much higher down here and the King is more comfortable to cruise at mid 80’s all day.

I’d love PA mostly because my FL carry permit (got it before FL went constitutional) works there or VT because it’s also constitutional. CT would be premise only unless I want to jump through the hoops for a non-resident permit. IDK

Look at you, you got me monologing…

lol.
