I installed the raw finished one and you can't tell it's there unless you are looking for it.

I ordered the black one on 7/15. Website said the next batch was expected to ship 8/5. The skid plate showed up 7/26.

Is everyone putting these on to protect the coolant hose ??

Had to put one on my 23 Goldwing .. If the case is hit just right .. flying road object, speed bump, etc etc, it could rip a piece of the block off. Not a good day .. big hole in the side of the block. Id say catastrophic !

Asking because Im wondering if there is anything similar .. other than the hoses .. on the 24 Street Glide that should be considered.

Yes, after my coolant hose was punctured on a long road trip, I did not hesitate to install the skid plate when it became available.

It also protects all of the exposed wiring and the like.

My initial plans were to have the skid plate hard anodized, locally. However, after I dry fitted the skid plate, I decided to leave it as is.

Got quotes for anodizing and powder coating. Both where close to the cost of the plate itself. So, nope!

After watching the video, it appears that the hoses and harnesses will contact the skid plate. This may cause leaks and electrical shorts after a period of time.
