Locking gas cap options

I'm sure it has not been overlooked. It's all part of HD's marketing. A locking gas cap will most likely show up under new parts soon!

Yeah, I don't look at it as being overlooked.
My 2010 Street Glide had that locking door over the cap.
One of the first things I did was install the Non-Locking button on that door.
I hated having to dig out my key every time I was gas.
Not sure what year HD moved away for those locking doors, but my 2015 doesn't have a locking door, and I am glad it doesn't.

Yes. Specifically I had the locking gas cap lid on my 2013 and 2018 Road Glides. I wanted the access limited with a lock to discourage vandalism (someone putting bad things in my gas). Not that it ever happened to me, but the world has gotten more crazy.
I agree that it's not the most convenient thing to have to get the keys out to fill the bike, but that is the case with a locking lid or gas cap. And it uses the same key as my bike so I'm not having to carry an additional key.

I rode a metric bike in the early 80's. It had a locking flip up gas cap. Instead of having a little thumb latch, there was a slot for the bike's key. Turn the key and the cap flipped open.
I can't see that being hard to do for the Harley cap. Would be nice if they offered one with the lock keyed to fit the bike's keys.

EVERY touring-style gas cap that came with a barrel key from the factory, can be opened with ANY OTHER Harley-Davidson barrel key...
This is obviously NOT the case with the ignition, tour pak, or saddle bags.
