Bike won't start - turns over but won't idle and backfires
Hello,
I installed a Tmax ECM about 7 years ago and it has worked great. However, today I tried to start my bike (2006 Nightrain) and it would not start. I initialized the ECM just in case that was the issue (actually did this 2-3 times). After multiple initializations and attempts to start, it backfired last attempt. I rode it a few days ago and it backfired slightly a couple of times (never did this before) when I gave it some throttle after a stoplight. I changed the sparkplugs a few days ago (gapped at .40) as the front plug was quite dirty / black so I figured the bike was misfiring due to a bad plug. Now the bike won't run (I doubt this has anything to do with the new plugs even though this was first ride I planned after installing them). I have a suspicious feeling, due to the backfiring and slight smell of fuel when I try to start the bike, that I may have one or both fuel injectors failing (I have the 25 degree injectors and they were likely installed with the Stage 1 upgrade before I bought the bike). I ran the diagnostics today and no codes show up!
A couple of questions:

A couple of questions:
- If this were an ECM issue would that show up as a trouble code?
- Do you know if a bad fuel injector would throw a code?
- Short of hauing the bike to my indy shop, any ideas on how to further troubleshoot?

check fuel pressure, and tps for proper idle voltage and throttle opening setting, and check for vacuum leak. Also check your compression.
