Default Putting an M8 exhaust on a 2015 Road Glide

Hey all,

I love the Khrome Werks Eclipse black chrome exhaust systems. Unfortunately, KW no longer makes the 2-into-1 exhaust in Eclipse for the twin cam touring bikes - just the M8 bikes.

At Daytona this past year, the guys in the KW truck offered to sell me an M8 2-into-1 system and have one of their installers put it on my 2015 Road Glide after hours as KW cannot officially install that system on a twin cam. However, the KW staff advised that his 'guys' have done a few of those installs and that it can be done with some 'muscling' the exhaust into place. For $1500+, I wasn't willing to take the risk.

Fast forward, I found a new in box set locally for $500. For the price, I though I would try to install on my bike and see if it works. Before I dig into it, has anyone else done this (or something similar) to their twin cam? Any tips? Any problems?

Hhmmm.. "muscling into place" seems like it would create pressure and future cracks.

I don't disagree. I think it is just a question of how much 'muscling' it will take. That is why I thought I would ask for anyone with experience trying this.
My backup backup plan is to use this as an excuse to buy a cheap 107 RG Standard, swap over my custom fairings, and sell my 2015 RG.

A guy on the road glide forum did one with a stock m8 header, simple fab job but its going to require cutting/welding not just muscle

That sounds like more work for anyone other than a fabricator, shop monkey type.
I have wondered if the M8 headpipe would bolt up to a TwinCam. I suspected alignment and spacing of the exhaust ports were different from the M8 to the TwinCam. Now we know.
From the pictures posted it looks like the guy did a nice job on the mods. and was pleased with his efforts.

You were literally typing my thoughts... The more I look at what he had to do in order to get proper fitment, the less I think I want to go through that. I am thinking I will just hang on to the exhaust until I find a good deal on an M8 touring bike.

Speaking of M8 exhaust. Has anyone removed the left hand muffler and crossover pipe, then plugged the crossover exit from the head pipe, creating a 2 into 1?
