Default 88 HD 883 LED bulb replacement?

My son has a 1988 Harley 883 Deluxe. I had one years ago. I was thinking about changing the front turn signal bulbs on his to LED, which was not an option when I had mine years ago. If I change just the front with a pair of LED bulbs, does it need an equializer? The bike is not computer run, like my 17 RG, so I don't believe I need it, but thought I would ask here to see if anyone already did it and what issues / things they had to do to make it work. Thanks in advance.

You will need an eq. It is not about it being electronic, it is about the resistance seen to the bulbs. I am about to the same to my 03. IMHO stay away from the simple "resistors wrapped in black tape" units". My understanding is they get pretty hot. Don't want that under my seat.

Me thinks you don't need an EQ if you're only replacing the front turns, or the rear turns and NOT BOTH. Replacing both front and rear turns require an EQ to prevent the hyper flash.

I think RKZen is correct. You may get hyperflashing on the dash indicator though. I could live with that.

As mentioned here, you do not need a load EQ if you are only changing the front. If you change front and rear you will need the EQ.

I changed the rear signals to LED and left the front bulbs stock on my Super Glide and it worked fine. As long as you still have one set of regular bulbs pulling power it will not cause the hyper flashing.
